Shae took this one; it's of Payton and her makeshift "desk" completing summer work to prepare for first grade.

"Some days she felt like she lived in a ZOO!!"

Today we spent the morning at Zoo Boise with Ashley, Spencer and Emma (oh wow I just realized we didn't take any pictures of that adorable baby girl). It was a great time, the kids really enjoyed visiting all of the animals. It's been a LONG time since we have visited the zoo. Shae and Spencer even had the chance to pet a boa constrictor---don't worry they didn't jump in the exhibit! An employee had the snake out for the kids to pet. Payton was busy reading the map and directing our every move so she missed out on the chance. She loved being the tour guide.

Here Kitty Kitty Payton taking pictures of the animals---can you guess what she captured?? I think it is the meerkat.
I wrestled them for a picture this is our imitation of the monkeys
Payton jumping in for a picture---my kids LOVE Ashley! Ashley with the boys The Ferguson Trio --- Junior crashed out from the fun Checking out the Red Panda Reid enjoyed his very first trip to Zoo Boise

Second Annual Camping Trip to the Locsha River

We just got home from our second annual camping trip with the Phillips family. We had so much fun with our dear friends and their children!!! My goodness our kids are growing so quickly.

Tristan and Payton (8 and 6 respectively) had a good time with Tristan's new book of magical creatures and finding brownies, goblins, water nixies, bogarts, and salamanders in the woods. If you have seen the Spiderwick Chronicles or read the book, you will know what they searched for. Tristan was sure to bring salt to line our tents to prevent a goblin attack:)

Shae tried to hang with the big kids but sooned realized just how cool Belly (aka Isabel) really is at 2 years old. Belly is not only the most beautiful little girl but is also a spitfire who is so much fun to spend time with. Those two had some fun with the fire pit, big sticks, and playing in the dirt!

We found a campsite with river access so we had our private beach on the Lochsa. It was really nice! The kids played for hours on the beach, Jeramie and Travis fished, and the mommies relaxed with baby Reid. We had a great time cooking and making smores by the fire each night.

We are looking forward to the third annual trip next summer in our same camping spot!! Thank you Jami and Jeramie for meeting up for our camping trip and making the vacation so much fun. We really do cherish our visits with you!

Camp Invention Pictures!!!

Okay so I am a week behind on getting these pictures posted----oops! Payton had a blast at Camp Invention last week at her new school. She created some really neat inventions and learned so much in such a short amount of time.

On the school front---school starts August 25th. We will be in Lake Chelan that week (shame on me for not being such a good mom in making vacation plans during "summer break") so she will start after Labor Day (I am still on a Montessori schedule in which school officially starts there!!). We find out who her teacher is on the 18th and will do a meet and greet on the evening of the 21st. She is really excited. I'm still nervous about sending her on the school bus, which I know is totally pathetic. BUT, I'm sure I'm not the first mom with this anxiety!! Such a change; makes me cherish the time I have left before school starts with them. Lake Chelan will be a BLAST!!!!!!!

This is their rover for the Mars module

This is her invention---"The Fish House 3000"

"Sludge City" They built an imaginary city that needed some cleaning up (and learned about recycling and "going green" in the process).
