HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Bring on 2009, Happy New Year!! What a year '09 will bring us. We are so excited to see the many changes a new year will bring, changes for our family and changes for our world. One change we have been really excited for is that Barack Obama will become our 44th President. He is a man who will bring forth some really fantastic change to our country---much needed change.

Our family will change this year through typical growth each child goes through. This year we will celebrate first with Travis's 30th birthday (Jan. 30), Reid will turn 1 (Feb. 22), I will be *gasp* 31 (March 25), Payton will turn 7 (May 30) and Shae will be 4 (July 1). It's hard to believe how much our kiddos have already grown, it will be a great year to see the upcoming changes!

Our house in Boise has been sold, the final sale occurs on Jan. 5th. We took a big leap in faith to pack up our lives with nothing more than a severance package and our belongings when we left Boise. We knew that the Lord would care for us since we knew we were on a path He planted for us. What incredible blessings we have received in the last few months. The great news I have been waiting to share with all of you is that Travis was offered a job with FM Global!! He starts in a few weeks! His company is based in Bellevue but it is a work from home job with some traveling. This will work so well for our family and now that I know where we will settle, I have been a busy bee looking for a job. The Lord is SO good to us!!

Well we hope that the start of 2009 is a good one for all of you. Take care and I look forward to seeing and/or hearing of the many changes that come your way!!

Reid, 10 months old!

Reid is now 10 months old. Where did the time go?? I can't believe that in 2 months, we will be celebrating his first birthday. One step at a time I guess----I should enjoy the last remaining months of having a baby!

Reid is one active boy. He is a fast crawler and has learned to pull himself up to a standing by grabbing on to just about anything. I saw him pull up in the crib yesterday. He thinks he is pretty cool because now he has figured out that he can stand while only using one hand to hold on to a surface (as you can see in this video). He also can move from holding onto a dining room chair to taking steps to grab onto the table. My oh my he will be walking soon!!

We found out some very exciting news yesterday that we can't wait to share with all of you!!!! The Lord has blessed us with the best Christmas present of all!! The news will be shared with you soon:) (and please don't think that this means we are having another baby----that is just not possible at this point so wish that sort of news for someone else lol!!).

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

It's been a while....

Oh my, I let my blog go almost a full month since my last posting. Yikes!! Well I have a lot to catch up on!

Things are great here in North Bend. We definitely have adjusted since our move and we feel at home in the Pacific Northwest. We really love the "eastside" of Seattle, so maybe just maybe we will settle in this vicinity once we get jobs in order. Travis did have an interview yesterday (16th) with a great company in Bellevue so we are praying this is the right job for him. We should find out before Christmas.

Both Payton and Shae enjoy school. Payton loves her teacher and her classmates. It is so positive to see how well she has adjusted as if she has been at this school all year! They went on a field trip at the beginning of December to the Seattle Children's Museum to see "the Wizard of Oz." She had a presentation last week about a holiday in another country---she chose Christmas in Ireland so she discussed a traditional Irish Christmas. Shae loves going to school, he doesn't cry when we leave now so that is positive! We saw his Spanish teacher out in the community a week or so ago and so he had a great time talking to her and seeing her outside of school. He is so very proud of his artwork that he brings home!

Reid is just growing like a weed. I should note, this is not physical growth! He seems to have plateaued in gaining weight, although he is eating pretty much everything we do now. He loves to feed himself so we give him a lot of finger foods. This is the stage of baby development that amazes me the most---Reid's developmental growth is changing so much! He is crawling all over the place and can pull to a standing. He mimics a lot of our sounds and some words. Travis has mastered "uh oh" with him and it is so stinking cute to watch the two of them go back and forth with their 'uh ohs!' He loves to play with the other two kids and can handle his own for sure! We call him bruiser at times because he does steamroll Shae at times when he is determined to take Shae's toy or item he is playing with. It's pretty entertaining to say the least.

The kids are so excited for Christmas! They can't handle the suspense of what they will receive. I think both kids have pestered me a few times about opening a present this morning while I sit close to the tree to type this entry. What stinkers!

Colin is flying in for Christmas so we are very excited to spend time with him while he is here! We will spend Christmas Eve with the Alflens and Christmas Day with the Fergusons. Ahhh, the bonus of one family opening presents on Christmas Eve and the other on Christmas Day----the kids get a double dose of present opening! I can hardly wait to just spend the time with our families.

Well, enjoy your Christmas! We wish you all a very happy day with your families. May God's blessings be plentiful as we close 2008 and start anew for 2009.

Washington My Washington

We made it to Washington!!

Ahhh, back in Washington! We made it! Things have been busy for us, between getting our UHAUL unpacked, settling into Nanny and Papa's place, and getting the kids into school.

We made it into North Bend late Saturday night (15th) and had the UHAUL unpacked by Sunday mid-morning. We had a tremendous amount of help (thank you Uncle Walt, Kyle, Dad, and Clayton) getting our stuff in the storage unit. We limited the amount of toys and such that we kept out which seems to be working well. I do miss having our swing for Reid but I have to remind myself that he already exceeds the weight limit so it's not like we can really use it for him anymore!

Payton started school last week and is adjusting well to her new school. She is getting along with her classmates and really likes her new teacher. She was placed with a really great teacher so we are pleased to have her at Snoqualmie Elementary. She goes on her first field trip on in December to the Children's Theatre in Seattle. I remember similar trips as a child so it's really neat to have our children home and experiencing the same places we did as kids!

We decided to get Shae into school as well. He goes to a local Montessori school 2 mornings a week for preschool. He loves it and we love that he is getting time with other children. He is such a social kid and loves to learn so we are happy with the fit. We hope to get him going to full days once we land jobs.

I have a bunch of pictures from our last days in Boise and pictures of what we have been up to the last week and a half, but I am having a hard time uploading it all to my blog. I spent forever and a day uploading them the other evening and then the site froze up on me so I'm a bit frustrated with it. I have some great pictures to share with all of you but no patience to try it again! I will get going on that later this week!

Great news----our house in Boise has been sold!! YAY!!!!!! The Lord is so good to us---thank you for your prayers. He has blessed us once again, we sing His praise!! We have accepted the offer so the ball is rolling and we will close mid-January. We are so grateful that our home sold and that it sold as quick as it did so that we will be able to buy a home here in WA when the time is right. Thank you Jeff and Ashley for your help in getting our house cleaned up and ready!! You are the best of friends!

We are still in the search for employment. Travis is working hard and making some head way in his field of work. I am still wondering what it is I want to do so I am going to do some homework about a variety of industries and fields in which I can find my calling. Please keep us in your prayers. We know the Lord is guiding us and will bless us with the right employment.

Reid fell ill this weekend, so if you can also keep him in your prayers that he will be able to work through the cold and intense congestion he is dealing with right now. He is still active and happy during the day but is struggling with some head and chest congestion. We thank the Lord we have health insurance at the moment in case he does need to see a doctor soon.

That's all for now!! I will work on uploading pictures later on. Take care one and all. For those in WA that we have not seen yet, we can't wait to catch up with all of you!!! For those who are now far from us in beautiful Boise, there isn't a day that goes by that we don't think about you and miss you dearly!

Love and blessing to all of you and your families! Happy Thanksgiving. We thank God for each and every one of you!
