We made it to Washington!!

Ahhh, back in Washington! We made it! Things have been busy for us, between getting our UHAUL unpacked, settling into Nanny and Papa's place, and getting the kids into school.

We made it into North Bend late Saturday night (15th) and had the UHAUL unpacked by Sunday mid-morning. We had a tremendous amount of help (thank you Uncle Walt, Kyle, Dad, and Clayton) getting our stuff in the storage unit. We limited the amount of toys and such that we kept out which seems to be working well. I do miss having our swing for Reid but I have to remind myself that he already exceeds the weight limit so it's not like we can really use it for him anymore!

Payton started school last week and is adjusting well to her new school. She is getting along with her classmates and really likes her new teacher. She was placed with a really great teacher so we are pleased to have her at Snoqualmie Elementary. She goes on her first field trip on in December to the Children's Theatre in Seattle. I remember similar trips as a child so it's really neat to have our children home and experiencing the same places we did as kids!

We decided to get Shae into school as well. He goes to a local Montessori school 2 mornings a week for preschool. He loves it and we love that he is getting time with other children. He is such a social kid and loves to learn so we are happy with the fit. We hope to get him going to full days once we land jobs.

I have a bunch of pictures from our last days in Boise and pictures of what we have been up to the last week and a half, but I am having a hard time uploading it all to my blog. I spent forever and a day uploading them the other evening and then the site froze up on me so I'm a bit frustrated with it. I have some great pictures to share with all of you but no patience to try it again! I will get going on that later this week!

Great news----our house in Boise has been sold!! YAY!!!!!! The Lord is so good to us---thank you for your prayers. He has blessed us once again, we sing His praise!! We have accepted the offer so the ball is rolling and we will close mid-January. We are so grateful that our home sold and that it sold as quick as it did so that we will be able to buy a home here in WA when the time is right. Thank you Jeff and Ashley for your help in getting our house cleaned up and ready!! You are the best of friends!

We are still in the search for employment. Travis is working hard and making some head way in his field of work. I am still wondering what it is I want to do so I am going to do some homework about a variety of industries and fields in which I can find my calling. Please keep us in your prayers. We know the Lord is guiding us and will bless us with the right employment.

Reid fell ill this weekend, so if you can also keep him in your prayers that he will be able to work through the cold and intense congestion he is dealing with right now. He is still active and happy during the day but is struggling with some head and chest congestion. We thank the Lord we have health insurance at the moment in case he does need to see a doctor soon.

That's all for now!! I will work on uploading pictures later on. Take care one and all. For those in WA that we have not seen yet, we can't wait to catch up with all of you!!! For those who are now far from us in beautiful Boise, there isn't a day that goes by that we don't think about you and miss you dearly!

Love and blessing to all of you and your families! Happy Thanksgiving. We thank God for each and every one of you!

Time to pack up our lives

Well we got the UHAUL at o'dark thirty this morning so we are preparing ourselves for a very long day of packing up our belongings. We have the majority of our items packed up so it should be a pretty cut and dry operation. We are both dreading it, but we are so lucky in that we have great friends who are coming over to help us.

We have finished up most of our errands and last minute things to do in Boise. Yesterday we had to get rid of our kitty Nala.
She went back to the Humane Society which has a great adoption rate (best in the country as a matter of fact) so we know she will get into a good home soon. We paid 1/2 of her adoption fee to help get her relocated quickly. It was a tough goodbye. Anyone that knows us (okay knows my feelings) knows that Nala drives me crazy and LOVES to pester Travis and myself. Her favorite thing to do is to jump on us in the middle of the night and meow in our faces to get a late night meal or to go outside. Tuesday night was one of those nights and she also decided it would be a lot of fun to play with some of the kids' toys really loudly while we tried to sleep. We were so irritated! Last night, however, was so quiet. I have to admit she was a part of our family and a good cat. She wouldn't even look at us when we tried to say goodbye to her. She was so upset about it being locked up in a cage. Brought us to tears. We will miss our Nala kitty. I still look at her special spot on our couch fondly. I will miss our furball!

Well we are off to pack. Today and tomorrow will be our busiest days as we leave Boise. My next blog might be posted after our move.

HOUSE FOR SALE!!!

Our house is officially for sale!

We put it up on the market one week ago; which yes we know, its not a great time to try and sell a house. But we are praying and believing that God will care for us as we move to WA which includes finding a homebuyer in this tough market that will want our house. We actually had a showing this morning so our real estate agent is following up on that. I know we shouldn't get our hopes up and I'm trying hard not to, but I have been praying ALL day that the showing will spark an interest by a potential buyer. I know the first time we saw the house, we knew it was for us. We shall see! If you happen to know someone in the market of buying a house in Boise, tell them about our house!! You can find it listed on our agent's site: http://www.boisehomesforsale.com/

Papa's Sports Car Gets Crunched....

We received sad news yesterday afternoon from Papa Kelly. The weather was bad yesterday morning in Everett while he was driving to work. He was on I5 going South in the Everett area when traffic came to a crawl. He drove to work in his new Solstice that he has had for a few months. This car is his baby! Anyways, the guy traveling behind Papa didn't notice that traffice came to a stop and crashed into his sweet ride. Papa's yellow baby hit a truck in front of him and well, now his car is totalled. He is so sad about his car but so grateful he is okay! That is the good news about this story, he did not sustain any injuries. Well at least he says so, he is a tough guy and we hope a severe headache he had yesterday afternoon was not related to the accident (although gut instinct tells me it had everything to do with it).

SO now he has to say goodbye to his baby. She is at the autobody shop but sources say she is done. The young man who crashed into Papa didn't have any car insurance (thankfully Papa has great coverage) so a lesson learned----make car insurance a priority even during these rough financial times. We all feel bad that this young man will have to pay out of pocket for the damages, but again, this is a tough lesson in life. Thankfully, he also did not sustain injuries.

Here is the picture that Papa sent to us. If he was in the picture, I would imagine he would have the saddest facial expression. Maybe his shoulders would be shrugged with his hands upwards as if stating, "Damn it all!" or "I didn't even see this coming!" I can even picture a tiny tear forming in his eye. Hey now, even tough guys have a sensitive side!!!

Halloween Fun in Boise

We hope you all had a great Halloween!! We had a great day, how fun that the holiday fell on a Friday this year! Payton had her friend Mia over for the day. She didn't have school so we headed out early to visit her Montessori school. Payton had fun spending time with her buddies and going on a parade to the retirement home. She even saw Gladys her reading partner, which was a special treat.

After a day of playing at home, we had a quick dinner and then headed out for trick or treating. One of the neighbor girls showed up to trick or treat with Payton (which was chaotic) so we didn't really get to stop by and chat with our neighbors like we usually do. About 30 minutes into this hyper drive trick or treating, we parted ways with Payton's friend. Shae had a hard time keeping up with them and we really wanted to take our time saying hi to the neighbors while out. Troy joined us with the golf cart so he and Travis had fun driving around with Reid.

It was so warm out while we were out that Shae was sweating in his Sully costume! Payton was perfectly fine in a light shirt under her Ariel costume. Darn it, the one year that Sully costume was too hot. Usually it is so cold trick or treating. This was a better year to walk, most years we drive the kids around!

Travis went to Jack Pot last night (Saturday) with Chris, Troy, and David. Chris's family rents a bus annually to ride down to Jack Pot for a night of gambling and fun so the boys were invited. The kids and I had a slumber party at Alyssa's. We played dress up, danced, and played games. Payton and Shae enjoyed learning how to play Jenga:) I completely forgot that it was daylight savings this morning! We snuck out at what I thought was 7:45 this morning so Alyssa and Kyla could sleep in (Miss Kyla was up a few times last night)----all 3 of my kids were up and ready for breakfast. I get home and check my email and happen to look at the clock on my computer. that is when I realized we gained an hour and that we were all awake around 6 am this morning! That is WAY too early for me!! Shae has been pestering me all morning about his candy, I seriously let them eat candy all day yesterday in hopes that they would go through most of it---apparently they have more to consume. I usually take it away and only allow them one piece a day which takes FOREVER to get rid of. This year I thought I'd be nice and let them eat it all. They both had tummy aches yesterday! Little piggies love candy!!

This week will be a mad dash to finish up packing. I would have liked to have more done at this point, but I am finding that packing an entire house while keeping up with normal daily tasks is really difficult. I think Travis and I will have some late nights this next week packing while the kids are sleeping. That may be our best bet in getting things accomplished. We put our house on the market on Friday so pray that it sells soon!! These next two weeks are our best bet to get it moved---otherwise we must face reality that it could stay on the market indefinitely.

Have a great week!

SUGAR HIGH!! Yeah let's eat it ALL tonight!

WHAT?! I'm totally chilling, NOT about to get into that HUGE bowl of candy.....
